Key Delivery Gotchas
Netflix 4K HDRstreaming
CRITICAL: Delivering SRT instead of TTML is the single most common caption QC rejection.
CRITICAL: Burned-in captions fail QC automatically — Netflix requires sidecar TTML.
TTML files must use proper XML namespace declarations or Photon validation fails.
Captions must not cross shot changes — violating shot-change timing rules causes QC failure.
Amazon Prime Video HDstreaming
CRITICAL: Timecode must be continuous and match audio/video — breaks in timecode cause ingest failures.
SCC files must be CEA-608 compatible — UTF-8 text files submitted as SCC will fail.
For 4K HDR Amazon titles, TTML/IMSC is required (not SRT).
Amazon's ingest portal validates CC file timing against video duration — mismatches cause rejection.
